Superb Overland Prototype
We have been working up this Overland frameset for a little while now and finally got in the first prototype. It is currently built up as a 1×10 with a riser bar and trigger shifter. The frame can easily be built up with a front derailleur and drop bars if you want to set it up for cross or gravel. It will easily clear a 700×40 tire or 700×35 plus fenders. It has mounts for fenders and front and rear racks so you could set it up for touring/commuting as well (some mounts are hidden on the inside of the tubes). Like the name suggests it is intended to go the distance over many different terrains, therefor we went with durable and comfortable chromoly steel. This prototype is 4130, but we are on the fence about using columbus steel in the production model. Would you be willing to pay an extra $100 for Columbus Zona over 4130? I know I would! The fork utilizes a large classy crown for all that extra tire clearance. Our plan is to offer this as a frameset and complete. I have already started testing this bike and am looking forward to taking it out on some trails to see how far I can really push it.
